One known victory, a B-17 "Dry Run II" of 96BG, 338BS flown by 2/Lt Andrew Miracle on 30 July, 1943 over St Trond. Miracle ditched the crippled craft into the North Sea, and all the crew were rescued. Sander developed the special skill of dropping a 250kg aerial mine into bomber formations.
