There is a rogue group of copyright infringers who have stolen a much earlier version of my data - from at least 10 years ago - and have the affrontery to publish that, along with using my name, on their poorly researched website. They claim this is the 'original' Kracker Archive, a ridiculous claim since my Archive has been in a state of continuous development for over 30 years and nobody - NOBODY - has the original. They have no right to use my name or my data and readers who come across this nonsense should do nothing to encourage theft of this nature. I am outraged by this blatant theft and misrepresentation of my lifetime's work. The ONLY person I have ever authorized to publish my data and use my name is Kelvin Youngs, who earned my trust and respect many years ago and is authorized by me to publish my work on whichever website he organizes, currently this being its present home at the highly respected Aircrew Remembered.

KIA 11 September, 1941 in aerial combat with a Soviet I-16. He radioed that his engine was hit and he was making a force landing. The crippled Bf 109 caught some treetops near Tosno and burst into flames, killing him instantly. His 3rd victory, a Blenheim in the Cherbourg area on 1 August, 1940. His 4th, a Hurricane S of the Isle of Wight on 8 August, 1940. His first known Soviet victories, numbers 5, 6 & 7, all three SB-2s SE of Grodno on 24 June, 1941. His 22nd, and last victory, a DB-3 NE of Tosno on 11 September, 1941, the date he was KIA. Added: He is probably buried in the German War Cem at Sologubowka, Russia, among the unknowns, as all the remains transferred there by the VDK could be identified (D.Drury).

2011 Rieckhoff, Hans JürgenObst Luftflotte II (5/40), Stab KG-30 (9/40 Channel) Ju 88A-5Bomber Operational Clasp He was the pilot who tried to alert the German bombers that Rotterdam had surrendered, and to return without bombing the capital. His effort failed. He is known to have participated in the bombing of the London Docks in September, 1940. On 9 September, 1940, he became POW, having served as Observer for Hptm Han Gerd Gollnisch (POW) (LOCS).

His 4th, a P-38 over the Balkans on 28 July, 1944. His 5th & 6th, both P-51s over the Balkans on 31 July, 1944. His 7th, a Mosquito at Liegplatz: Mizil-Rum on 3 August, 1944. His 8th, a P-51 at Mizil-Rum on 4 August, 1944. His 9th, a P-51 in the Balkans on 10 August, 1944. His 10th, a P-51 in the Balkans on 17 August, 1944. His 11th & 12th, both Yak 9s over Rumania on 20 August, 1944. His 13th, a Yak 9 over Rumania on 21 August, 1944. His 14th & 15th, both Rumanian Bf 109s over Rumania on 24 August, 1944. One known victory, a B-24 NE of Linz on 25 July, 1944. Another victory over Austria, a B-17 (HSS) on 26 July, 1944. A 3rd, a B-17 N of Naumbergon 28 July, 1944.
2014 Riedel, JosefHptm1/31/19099/KG-27 (8/40)He 111P (lost)Bomber Operational ClaspMIA 14 August, 1940 after being shot down by Spitfires of RAF No.92 Sq, during a bombing raid over West Country. The AC crashed at 18:00 hours into the sea at Bridgewater Bay, between Barry and Steep Holm Island. Remaining crew: Uffz Adelhard Witt, Observer (MIA); Fw Ernst Haumann, Mech (MIA); Gefr Emil Wolf, Gunner (MIA) and Uffz Hans Dolata, R/O (KIA). Dollata's body washed ashore at Portishead on 12 September, 1940, and he is buried at Weston-sur-Mare Cemetery, Sec Y, Gr 240. Source: Bristol Past, John Penny. MIA 6 September, 1940 after aerial combat with a Spitfire near Tilbury England. Uninjured in a "Kopfstand" on 23 February, 1940 at Trier, most likely a poor landing (Prien). Shot down a 2nd time without wounds by cannon fire southwest of Saarbrücken on 25 March, 1940 (Prien). One known "damage" claim, a Motane 406 east of Paris, 21 May, 1940. His first victory, a Bloch 151 3 km southeast of Soissons, 6 June, 1940. His 2nd, a Bloch 151 at Reims, 11 June, 1940.

Bomber Operational Clasp
WIA 30 July, 1944; shot down accidentally by German Naval flak, caught fire, and came down at Het Zwin, between Cadzand and Knokke. Remaining crew: Uffz Rudolf Noreike (WIA), Obs; Gefr Hans Grundler (MIA), R/O; Gefr Egid Pollinger (WIA), Gunner and Ogefr Waldermar Lahn (MIA), Gunner. Wings to Victory. Added: Uffz Rieger, Uffz Noreike and Gefr Pollinger were rescued. No VDK burial detail for those MIA (D.Drury).

Remaining crew: Gefr Hans Petzold, Obs (WIA); Uffz Walter Löhr, R/O (WIA) and Fw Anton Stern, Gnr (KIA). The wounded all returned. Anton Stern's original grave is at Rezekne Latvia, and the VDK has not yet transferred his remains to a military cemetery. He is commemorated in the German War Cem. at Riga Beberbeki, Latvia (D.Drury).

He was the highest decorated Luftwaffe pilot in WWII, with 2530 missions. The only recipient of the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes mit Goldenem Eichenlaub, Schwertern und Brillanten (The Knight's Cross with Golden Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds). The first pilot to sink a battleship, the Russian "Marat"on 23 September, 1941. His gunner this date was a Scharnovski. He is also credited with sinking 2 cruisers and destroying 532 Tanks. One known victory, an Il-18 at Staryy-Oshkol on 2 July, 1942, as an Ofw in 8/ZG-2 (if this was Hans!) He lost his right leg from Flak, but continued to fly. Shot down 30 times; wounded five times, yet survived the war. His R/O on his 1000th mission, Ofw Erwin Hentschel. A recipient of the Hungarian Medal for Bravery (among many others!). U.S. POW released April, 1946. Deceased 18 December, 1982 Rosenheim (P. Bastin).

This interview was done at Dr Migeod's house on 29 May 2010 in Somerset West South Africa when he was 92 years old. He was a Luftwaffe stuka pilot who saw service in France, Battle of Britain, Balkans, Crete and Africa. Rudel had joined their group but their leader found Rudel unfit for operational flying!

POW; shot down over England in "Yellow 1" on 17 October, 1940. He made a force landing by Manston, and was immediately taken prisoner. Jager Blatt article (Hans Fischer body recovery, 1998). He lost a Bf 109E on 2 January, 1940 during aerial combat with a Curtis; he was not injured (Prien). Injured on 10 May, 1940 when his Bf 109E-1 was rammed by another Bf 109. He crashed south of Grevenmacher (Prien). One known "Damaged", a Hawk-75A in the Saarbrücken area, 24 September, 1939. His first victory, a Hurricane S of London on 29 September, 1940. His 2nd, a Spitfire at Maidstone on 5 October, 1940. Survived the war.

KIA 25 May, 1944 when he was exiting his "White 5" after completing a mission. He was followed by several P-47s who strafed the Metz-Frescaty airfield, hitting him in the stomach with a 50 cal. He fell off the wing into the revetment and bled to death. Escaped injury during a collision on 15 March, 1944 with Lt Johann Hermann Meier, the Sq. leader. Meier was killed and was found responsible for the takeoff accident. One known victory, a B-24 of the 44BG near Poix on 21 January, 1944.

The Dornier took hits on the starboard engine and plummeted seaward, some 10 miles east of Humber. Remaining crew (all MIA): Gefr Hans Dähler, Observer, Uffz Walter Labinschuhs, wireless operator and Uffz Kurt Nürnberger, gunner. None of the crew were ever recovered.

KIA 13 June, 1944 in "Black 1" after being hit by Allied AA fire over the Normandy beachhead, N of Caen. He had crashed in his AC. WIA 15 September, 1943 in "Blue 11" 18 km E of Beauvais by B-17 return fire. He was severely injured when he struck his ACs tailfin on the way out. One known victory, a B-17 "Dry Run II" of 96BG, 338BS flown by 2/Lt Andrew Miracle on 30 July, 1943 over St Trond. Miracle ditched the crippled craft into the North Sea, and all the crew were rescued. Sander developed the special skill of dropping a 250kg aerial mine into bomber formations. Flugbuch (6/44 to 4/45).
